13. October 2017

From 6th to 8th October 2017 Faculty of Law organized CAMP PEIRA, a unique live-simulation course focused on international law (law of armed conflicts, refugee and migration law, and international criminal law) applicable in situation of a refugee camp run by resistance movement fighters in a situation of a non-international armed conflict. The issue of providing health care in such situation was also an integral part of the simulation.

During the simulation participants – law, medical, health sciences and other students from Palacký University and Charles University – were assigned a role of a refugee, fighter or an (interrogated) detainee in a refugee camp and were challenged to cope with different situations under the conditions of armed conflict. The training was concluded by evaluation and lectures by Czech and foreign experts.

CAMP PEIRA took place in the Military Training Area Březina (Vyškov) and was organized in collaboration with the Army of the Czech Republic (soldiers, army lawyers), University of Defence students, Czech Red Cross and UNHCR Prague.
